Rather, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pardoned him in the first place.” would have more appropriate.
Seriously, who commutes 108 years of prison sentences??? Don’t you think that might have been a clue that someone thought Clemmons was dangerous and that he might have a past violations which warranted such a sentence??
And just so you know Mike, should you read this…. this is not about politics. It’s about 4 dead cops.
Idiot.
Ok, I know it wasn’t just Huckabee involved in all this. There were parole boards, etc. It’s just that almost every year since my brother died, I’ve attended a memorial service for all the police, fire and EMS personnel who died while on duty in Indiana and Kentucky during the past year, knowing what those families are going through. In some ways it’s easier to rationalize why a fireman or EMS personnel dies in the line of duty when it’s because of some sort of accident. But when a cop is gunned down, and especially when it’s by a known felon, you just want someone to stand up, look those families in the proverbial eye and say “I’m sorry, I could have prevented this.”
